Inc. Mr. Lanz specializes in Recurring Monthly Revenue (RMR) Businesses. Marty was born in Brooklyn, NY in 1944 and started his career in the retail photographic industry. He rapidly expanded into the commercial leasing and servicing of burglar and fire alarm systems.

Marlarm Security Systems, Inc., founded in June, 1971, has grown to become one of the largest independent security dealers in the United States and was listed as one of the top 100 nationally known security companies in the 2001, 2002, 2006, 2007, & 2008 SDM annual publications, which ranks Burglar & Fire Alarm installing companies according to annual revenue. In 1979 CCTV was added to the line of security services provided. Marlarm has been using a strategy of growth through acquisition, beginning with the 1984 purchase of Lesco Alarms, followed by A.L.I., Freedom Protection, Security Associates, Arrow Protection, Quality Protection (formerly Alarmingly Safe and Sound), Electro Protective Services and Acme Central Station Alarm Co. In total Marlarm has completed 28 acquisitions. Marlarm Security now provides security to over 4,000 residential homes in the New York metropolitan area, including all-inclusive executive protection systems to CEOs' of major corporations. Marlarm's well know commercial clients include Avis, National and Hertz Rent A Car companies, General Motors, Helmsley Hotels, Fidelity Investments, Wendy's and Domino's. Mr. Lanz's professional affiliations include membership in the National Burglar and Fire Alarm Association. Here he served as a Director, representing all New York State alarm associations on the national Board of Directors. He was the co-founder of the Metropolitan Burglar & Fire Alarm Association. Under his leadership, the MBFAA has become one of the largest local alarm associations in the United States. Marty is also an Associate Member of the National Conference of CPA Practitioners and the Long Island Chapter of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners.

Marty's accomplishments in the industry include taking a leading role in the passage of New York State Licensing of alarm companies, Nassau County's repeal of a fining system for unnecessary alarm signals and replacement of said system with a County Alarm License. He has also taken part in extensive lobbying of the U.S. Senate to pass the 1997 Telecommunications Bill, which restricted the Bell Operating Companies from entering into the Alarm Industry.

In May of 2006, Marty put his succession plan into action. His son Ian was brought into the business to maintain and grow the company that Marty had built. Ian was working as a Director of Marketing for British Petroleum (BP) before Marty hired him away. Over the past three + years Marty and Ian have enjoyed being able to work side by side, learning from each other and growing their relationship both personally and professionally. Today, Marty and Ian share the responsibilities of running the organization as CEO and COO. This allows Marty the ability to keep his fingerprint on the organization, while providing him some time to pursue some other business and personal ventures.
