Malcolm Elvey, an authority on corporate finance, has founded or co-founded and headed six companies and a venture fund, served on the boards of six public companies and four privately held companies, and led several industry consolidations.
He is currently a director and chair of the Audit Committee of The Children’s Place Retail Stores, Inc., (NASDAQ.PLCE). He is also the managing partner of Collaborative Capital, a boutique technology venture capital firm he founded in 1999. He is a founder of LimoRes.net, a global ground transportation company.
Mr. Elvey’s experience spans several countries, including South Africa, where his career began, and the U.S., where he has lived and worked since 1975. He has served as a director of many public companies, quoted in the US, UK, Italy and Germany. Two of the companies in which his venture fund invested have increased three to five times in equity value since 1999. Four companies he headed have gained a competitive advantage from technology he helped introduce. At least five of the many executives he has mentored are today CEOs.
He is also actively involved in nonprofit organizations. He is a director and founder of SACCA, South African Chamber of Commerce America, and has been active in the leadership of The Young President’s Organization and the World President’s Organization since 1973. He is also a member of the board of The American Friends of the Bezalel Academy of Art and Design in Jerusalem and an arbitrator for NASD (National Association of Securities Dealers). He has been an adjudicator of business plans at the Columbia Business School since 1999.
Mr. Elvey is a chartered accountant and holds an MBA degree from the University of Cape Town, South Africa.
