Mike Higgins is President of a Dallas based privately held farming /ranching corporation with holdings in Iowa, Texas and New Mexico. Bentley Farms focuses on a variety of agri-business products and service from grain production (corn & soy beans) to recreational hunting and bird watching. Mike took on this role in 2008 making the significant career move after 30 years as an executive in the Fortune 100 and global management consulting.
Mr. Higgins was a Principal in the Aviation, Aerospace and Defense Practice of Oliver Wyman from 2004-2008 specializing in large scale organization transformation, continuous performance improvement, operational excellence methodologies and executive and organization development. His clients included Boeing , Lockheed Martin Aerospace, Bell Helicopter, Abu Dhabi Aircraft Technologies, Mubadala Sovereign Equity Fund and Macquarie Capital.
Prior to joining Oliver Wyman in 2004, Mr. Higgins was Vice President of Consulting Services for The Belgard Group. Projects included large scale culture turnarounds, development of strategic human resource plans and competency based employee development models. Clients included Boeing, Ameritech, Johnson & Johnson, Sabre Holdings, Vought Aircraft and Rockwell Collins.
Mr. Higgins served as Vice President – Compensation & Organization for Bank One – Texas from 1994 to 1996 and helped consolidate the Bank’s acquisitions in Texas during its expansion.
From 1981 to 1994, Mr. Higgins held a series of increasingly senior management positions at McDonnell Douglas Corporation in St Louis.
Mr. Higgins holds a Masters in Public Policy from Drake University. He has served as an examiner for the Texas Award of Performance Excellence and has coached/consulted with the executive leadership of two successful Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award recipients.
He has served on a number of local boards, both in St Louis when at McDonnell Douglas and in Dallas. He has also been published nationally in several journals, addressed a number of national conferences and contributed to several books authored by associates.
He has sponsored and organized a number of U. S. Olympic Team qualifying events and has represented the United States at World Championship events in competitive shooting.
